SUMMARY:Mission in Progress: Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Conference 2023
DESCRIPTION:Save the Date – Mission in Progress: Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Conference 2023\n\n\nWe are excited to announce the second annual conference for the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. This year\, the European Commission and NetZeroCities invite Mission City mayors and practitioners\, representatives of national and regional authorities\, and others to connect and engage on Mission-critical concepts and ideas.   \nMission in Progress: Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Conference 2023  will be held in Brussels 26-27 June 2023. This invitation-only event is organised by the European Commission and NetZeroCities and will bring together political representatives and practitioners from the 112 Mission Cities to celebrate progress\, share insights and inspiration.  \nWho is the conference for? \nThe first day\, 26 June\, will be a day for exchange and dialogue between city practitioners – mission coordinators and transition team members within municipalities. The second day\, 27 June\, will have a two-track agenda: a practitioner track for city transition team delegates\, and a political track for mayors and deputy mayors.      \nThe two-day conference is a chance for Mission Cities to get inspired\, connect with other ambitious cities\, and share their experiences! City practitioners are encouraged to attend both days and Mission City Mayors are encouraged to attend on the second day for the plenary discussions and a series of special sessions for Mission City political representation.   \nWhat’s in store? \nWe have a lot on offer for cities over the two days including peer-to-peer exchange sessions\, inspiring panel discussions\, conversations with the EU Cities Mission representatives and more! It will also offer city practitioners many opportunities to discuss crucial questions related to the Climate City Contract process\, thematic issues such as citizen engagement\, Pilot Cities\, and more. There will also be plenty of space to network with fellow Mission Cities representatives.  \n The conference provides a valuable opportunity to meet one another in person\, to engage with high level representatives at EU\, national and local level and to continue to build on your journey to 2030 climate neutrality.   \nDownload the draft agenda here. \nThe agenda is a draft and we will continue to update in the lead up to the conference and we will share updates with participants as and when they come through.  \nRegistration is by invitation only which can be found in email communications send by the NetZeroCities Coordination team. The deadline to register is 5th June 2023.  \nFor any questions\, or if you have not been contacted and believe you should be invited\, please do not hesitate to contact us.

SUMMARY:Governance for Data Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Governance for Data Spaces\, 26 June 2023\, 14.00-15.30 CET\n  \nData spaces\, as defined by the Data Space Support Centre (DSSC)\, are infrastructures that enable data transactions between different data ecosystem parties based on a governance framework. Collaborative projects such as DS4SSCC\, PrepDSpace4Mobility\, GREAT\, and DATES are actively working on developing a multi-stakeholder data governance scheme with the aim of sharing large pools of data and facilitating the development of data-driven services in smart cities and communities. \nIn the context of the DSSC Insight Series\, DS4SSCC\, DATES and PrepDSpace4Mobility  are co-organizing the Governance of Data Spaces webinar that aims to bring together stakeholders from various domains to explore the governance approaches and share experiences in managing data spaces. By showcasing use-cases on sustainable mobility\, energy flow management\, pollution\, and tourism\, the webinar aims to contribute to the development of effective governance guidelines for data spaces in these domains. The speakers will provide valuable insights and foster discussions that will pave the way for the advancement of data-driven services and the sustainable development of smart cities and communities. \nThe webinar will be conducted in a format consisting of presentations followed by a Q&A session\, with a total duration of 90 minutes. The presentations will provide an overview of the governance approaches and present use-cases in their respective domains. The Q&A session will allow participants to engage in discussions and seek further clarifications. \nThe webinar targets the following groups\, as they play critical roles in the governance and development of smart cities and communities: \n\nLocal government officials and policymakers\nUrban planners and city development professionals\nIndustry representatives\nTechnology providers and solution developers\nResearchers and academics\nNGOs and advocacy groups\n\n \nRegister here
