SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:This focus group is organised in the realm of the project called Preparatory actions of the AI-on-Demand Platform (Pre-PAI). It is an EU founded project aimed at providing the blueprint for the further development\, deployment\, and operation of the European AI-on-demand platform (https://www.ai4europe.eu/). This sovereign platform aims to be the one-stop shop for a wide range of AI resources: contacts\, content\, data\, training\, services\, funding programmes\, jobs\, events\, technical tools etc. The European Commission will use it as its reference platform for all AI projects related actions at the EU level\, with the aim of involving researchers\, industry and public administrations. We are consulting public administrations at the national\, regional and local levels. We leverage on different consultation means: an online survey\, targeted interviews\, and focus groups. \nThis focus group is set to dig deeper into main needs of public administrations with regard to the adoption and use of AI. In particular\, the discussion will be based on all the functionalities which\, if developed on the AI-on-demand platform\, would provide value to public officers dealing with\, or interested in\, the use of AI for public services. The agenda and discussion guide below is meant to orient the discussion even in case participants do not have any preliminary knowledge of the platform. The meeting is expected to be conducted online and to last around 90 minutes. \nAgenda \nGoogle Meet link

SUMMARY:Governance for Data Spaces
DESCRIPTION:Governance for Data Spaces\, 26 June 2023\, 14.00-15.30 CET\n  \nData spaces\, as defined by the Data Space Support Centre (DSSC)\, are infrastructures that enable data transactions between different data ecosystem parties based on a governance framework. Collaborative projects such as DS4SSCC\, PrepDSpace4Mobility\, GREAT\, and DATES are actively working on developing a multi-stakeholder data governance scheme with the aim of sharing large pools of data and facilitating the development of data-driven services in smart cities and communities. \nIn the context of the DSSC Insight Series\, DS4SSCC\, DATES and PrepDSpace4Mobility  are co-organizing the Governance of Data Spaces webinar that aims to bring together stakeholders from various domains to explore the governance approaches and share experiences in managing data spaces. By showcasing use-cases on sustainable mobility\, energy flow management\, pollution\, and tourism\, the webinar aims to contribute to the development of effective governance guidelines for data spaces in these domains. The speakers will provide valuable insights and foster discussions that will pave the way for the advancement of data-driven services and the sustainable development of smart cities and communities. \nThe webinar will be conducted in a format consisting of presentations followed by a Q&A session\, with a total duration of 90 minutes. The presentations will provide an overview of the governance approaches and present use-cases in their respective domains. The Q&A session will allow participants to engage in discussions and seek further clarifications. \nThe webinar targets the following groups\, as they play critical roles in the governance and development of smart cities and communities: \n\nLocal government officials and policymakers\nUrban planners and city development professionals\nIndustry representatives\nTechnology providers and solution developers\nResearchers and academics\nNGOs and advocacy groups\n\n \nRegister here
