SUMMARY:Digital Twin Innovation Exchange by OASC & The Digital Twin Hub – London (GB)\, 3 June 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Digital Twin Hub is co-hosting an event with Open & Agile Smart Cities & Communities (OASC) to explore the ways in which digital twins are being designed and implemented across the European landscape\, and how Local Digital Twin toolboxes are being developed to equip places with the right resources and tools to foster new innovations. This session will also explore how cost-effective Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms developed by OASC\, as well as good standards\, can enable quick implementation\, creating shareable\, accessible and reusable data to connect digital solutions. \nCome join us at the Connected Places Catapult’s offices in London from 09:45 – 12:00 on Tuesday 3rd June. to learn more about the Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms and explore opportunities to collaborate across cities. \nAbout us: \nThe DT Hub (hosted by CPC) is a network for finding partners and collaborators. It is a place for learning and sharing experiences; for driving innovation\, developing expertise and advancing the state of the art for digital twins. It identifies good practice\, develops guidance and shapes standards on data sharing as well as showcasing the benefits of collaborative\, connected digital twin endeavours. \nOpen & Agile Smart Cities & Communities is a network that connects cities & communities worldwide to learn from each other and exchange digital\, data-driven solutions based on Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs). We represent our members towards international institutions\, fora and standards developing organisations to ensure that their voice is heard when new standards come about. \nAgenda: \n09:45 – 10:15 Networking Breakfast \n10:15 – 10:30 Welcome and Opening Remarks from CPC and OASC \n10:30 – 11:00 Local Digital Twin Toolboxes – Presentation \n13:00 – 13:35 Panel Discussion on data sharing across UK and EU landscapes \n11:00 – 11:35 General discussion: Exploring opportunities for collaboration across UK and EU Ecosystems \n11:55 – 12:00 Wrap up and next steps \n \n REGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:The Role of Positive Energy Districts in City Transformation – Online\, 10-11 June 2025
DESCRIPTION:Cities around the world are taking their responsibilities to tackle the climate crisis seriously. Increasingly they are following a district-focused approach to enable solutions to be tailored to the specific characteristics of each local area.  \nWhile the International Energy Agency is promoting the term Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) and there is an extensive program of work under that name promoted by the European Commission\, there are many different ways that cities refer to the approach they are taking. \nThe workshop will feed into a Technology Report that the IEC System Committee Smart Cities is developing to describe the key characteristics of this approach so as to provide a common basis for cities to collaborate and learn from each other. In addition\, by raising the profile of this increasingly common approach by cities to tackle the climate crisis\, this will also alert specialist technical standards committees to the importance of this topic and support an ongoing collaborative approach to delivering the standards needed.  \nWe invite you to join us in fostering collaborative work on global standardization\, reflecting the experience and “first” lessons learned from existing projects. During the two days\, you will hear from PED projects from around the world and some key standards committees\, help identify the key characteristics of PEDs and use this to help develop a clear definition of the topic. You will also help us identify the key challenges cities face in implementing PEDs and what standards exist or could be developed to help. \nThe workshop will be of value to: \n\nParticipants in existing PED projects and those considering the development of such projects\nSolution providers that could provide products and services to help\nStandards development committees that are working in areas of relevance to PEDs\n\n \n FIND THE AGENDA AND REGISTRATION HERE
