OASC partner AsoPMR — the Association of People with Reduced Mobility — has developed Spot4Dis, a free mobile app helping people with reduced mobility find accessible parking across Europe.
AsoPMR was selected by Google.org as one of only 18 organisations worldwide for the first edition of its Impact Challenge programme, receiving funding and the collaboration of four Google experts to develop the app. Spot4Dis now lists over 100,000 accessible parking spots across 800+ European cities. Users can locate spots, check local parking regulations and plan journeys with greater confidence and independence.
For municipalities and public authorities, Spot4Dis also provides a platform for managing accessible parking infrastructure, including real-time monitoring, occupancy analysis, fraud detection and data-driven decision-making. The platform can integrate IoT sensors and smart barriers to improve efficiency and control.
AsoPMR is currently looking for NGOs interested in supporting dissemination of Spot4Dis in their countries — helping to grow the number of registered parking spots and active users. If your organisation is active in accessibility or inclusion, this could be a valuable collaboration.
