This virtual seminar aims to raise awareness of the relationships among ontology-related standards currently being developed by standards development organizations (SDOs) and to explore potential work items for the collaborative development of future standards.
The session will clarify key concepts and properties (i.e., concept patterns) to support stronger interconnection, interoperability, and interaction of data and information technologies across cities, for both human and machine use.
Panel topics will include, but are not limited to:
1. Identification of standards and standards development organizations (SDOs) associated with terminology and ontology for smart cities.
2. Definitions, concepts, concept relations, concept systems of terminology and ontology in smart cities.
3. Relationship between terminology and ontology, and their effect on data model and information technology for both human and machine use.
4. Examples of the syntax and semantics used to specify terminology, ontology and semantic interoperability in standards associated with smart cities e.g. information modelling, digital twins, Citiverse, in the real-world experience.
