The Knowledge Cities World Summit (KCWS) is an annual independent global gathering of professionals to discuss “cities of knowledge” and “knowledge-based development”. The initiative is a trademark of the World Capital Institute (WCI), an international think tank whose goal is to promote understanding and application of knowledge as the most powerful lever for development. The 12th edition of the Knowledge Cities World Summit (KCWS 2019) will take place in Florianópolis, Brazil, with the partnership and organisation of the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of Santa Catarina (Fecomércio). Florianópolis is the capital of Santa Catarina, south of the country, being one of the most awarded innovation hubs in Brazil and recognised for tourism, public service and high technology.
