During Phase 3 of the Pre-Commercial Procurement (July 2026 – April 2027), each selected replicator will receive a free three-month deployment of one of the SPACE4Cities prototypes, alongside peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and €2,500 in funding for engagement expenses. The Replicator Pilots will test the transferability of the solutions to new local contexts, helping validate their readiness for wider deployment and commercialisation beyond the project.

Selected cities by solution
CHERISH by eOnsight, uses radar satellite data for cultural heritage site monitoring to identify strain caused by ground movement and enable preventive maintenance. Their main pilot is taking place in the Buyers’ Group city of Helsinki, Finland. In the Replicator pilots, Albi, France, will monitor its UNESCO World Heritage Episcopal City and riverbanks to mitigate risks from clay soil shrinkage and erosion, while the Île-de-France region will deploy the solution to proactively monitor its high school infrastructures, which are affected by ground motion from climate extremes and underlying geological issues.
CityMotion, designed by Detektia, combines radar satellite data and AI agents to monitor urban infrastructure, identifying ground-motion-related risks and supporting preventive maintenance. The primary pilot takes place in the Buyers’ Group city of Ghent, Belgium. As Replicator cities, Coimbra, Portugal, will assess geographically dispersed roads, bridges, dykes, and intermunicipal cycling routes vulnerable to flooding and post-fire landslides, and Kavala, Greece, will use the solution to establish a city-scale deformation baseline for its steep coastal terrain, historic buildings, and retaining structures.
Created by Latitudo 40, Planetek, and Teamdev, CLIMAPS provides a periodically updated view of climate and environmental conditions, offering scenario modelling to mitigate risks like floods and urban heat islands. The Buyers’ Group city of Amsterdam, Netherlands, hosts the main pilot. Replicator city Sabadell, Spain, will evaluate heat exposure and land-cover dynamics to support interventions like its Climate Shelter Network and sustainable drainage systems, while Nisporeni, Moldova, will integrate LiDAR and environmental data within CLIMAPS to model adaptation scenarios for pluvial flooding and heat, informing its municipal climate action plan.
DYNAMO-SM, developed by Everimpact, tracks greenhouse gas emission sources in near real-time, identifying specific emitters like transport modes to support air quality modelling and mobility policies. Athens, Greece, fields the main pilot as a Buyers’ Group city. For the Replicator pilots, Liepaja, Latvia, will track transport emissions to assess the impact of low-emission zones and mobility interventions and Thessaloniki, Greece, will integrate the solution into its Smart Mobility Living Lab, cross-checking satellite emission estimates against street-level exhaust measurements and fixed air quality stations.
Designed by BitaGreen, Climate Scale, and TreeSense, VISTA delivers near real-time intelligence on vegetation health and green space maintenance needs, while assessing the economic and environmental impacts of potential maintenance actions. Guimarães, Portugal, serves as the main Buyers’ Group city for the pilot. Replicator city Las Rozas de Madrid, Spain, will target irrigation, pruning, and replacements across its extensive tree canopy in response to intensifying heatwaves and droughts, and Panevėžys, Lithuania, will systematically monitor its parks and street trees, identifying areas of vegetation stress early to prioritize on-site inspections and maintenance.
SPACE4Cities congratulates the selected Replicator Cities and looks forward to the results and lessons from the pilots, which will provide valuable evidence on how these solutions can be transferred to different European cities and regions and contribute to making them more resilient, sustainable and liveable.
