Urban-Flow, a four-year €17 million Horizon Europe project, has officially launched in Valencia, bringing together a diverse European consortium to accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral and more liveable cities. The initiative will develop and test practical, scalable solutions to help cities rebalance public space and mobility, translating ambitious climate goals into concrete local action.
Working with pilot cities such as Valencia, Florence, and Tampere, Urban-Flow will deploy innovative tools including digital twins and City Living Labs, enabling stakeholders to co-create and assess sustainable urban solutions. These approaches aim to reduce emissions while improving quality of life, resilience, and accessibility in urban environments. A central feature is the creation of City Labs, where stakeholders collaboratively design and test innovative regeneration solutions supported by real-time data and advanced ICT tools.
Open & Agile Smart Cities & Communities is proud to be part of this forward-looking consortium, contributing its expertise in interoperability across technical and organisational dimensions, and digital transformation. Its involvement reinforces the project’s commitment to openness, collaboration, and scalability across cities. By supporting knowledge sharing and common frameworks, OASC helps ensure that successful solutions can be replicated widely across Europe.
As Urban-Flow gets underway, the consortium signals a strong step forward in shaping inclusive, innovative, and climate-neutral cities for the future. Follow our journey via www.urban-flow.eu and www.linkedin.com/company/urban-flow-project/.
